It has been a busy time for education outreach at CEES, with more than 7300 people participating this past season. CEES activities have included summer weather camps, expansion of the Center's Discovering the Science of the Environment program, a visit to the state fair, and various other outreach events.

Over 400 IUPUI students and faculty participated in CEES's service learning program, working to maintain and restore natural areas at Eagle's Crest, Starling Nature Sanctuary, Holliday Park, Sodalis Park, Oaklandon, Fall Creek, and the Lilly ARBOR. In keeping with tradition, most projects focused on removal of Amur Bush Honeysuckle (Lonicera maackii).

Beaver (Castor canadensis) have been an intermittant presence at the Lilly ARBOR since the forest restoration project was initiated seventeen years ago. There is plenty of evidence of past beaver activity.
