CITES SCHOLARSHIP. The IUPUI Center for Earth and Environmental Science (CEES) has been awarded funding through Central Indiana Technical and Environmental Societies (CITES) to provide one $1200 or two $600 scholarships to IUPUI students pursing degrees in earth sciences, environmental sciences, or environmental engineering.
Applicants must be full- or part-time IUPUI undergraduate students who are United States Citizens and Indiana residents. Additionally, an aplicant must be working toward a degree and carrying a minimum semester class load of six hours. The academic scholarship will be provided towards a recipient’s fall 2016 tuition.
Scholarship recipients will be selected during the spring 2016 semester and will be recognized at the School of Science Spring Honors Convocation and the CITES Spring Symposium and Luncheon.
The application form should be printed or typed and submitted with a one page letter written by the applicant. The letter should discuss how the applicant's future career goals are linked to applied earth and environmental science.
A minimum of one letter of reference is also required. The reference letter(s) may be written by a faculty member, mentor, counselor, etc., but may not be authored by a family member. Letters of reference may be mailed by their authors, included in the application packet in sealed & signed envelopes or emailed to Dr. Victoria Schmalhofer.
